Mexico City, July 8, 2026.—Los Cabos is ready to celebrate the 10th anniversary of a tournament that has come to complement this unique destination in the country.
In 2026, the venue will shine once again with the presence of top ATP Tour players such as the Czech Jiri Lehecka, No. 14 in the PIF ATP Rankings; the Italian Luciano Darderi (No. 16), Argentina’s Francisco Cerúndolo (No. 21), Karen Khachanov (No. 22), Britain’s Cameron Norrie (No. 29), and Canada’s Denis Shapovalov (No. 41 and defending champion). Plus Grigor Dimitrov is back after his debut in 2019.
Mexicans Rodrigo Pacheco and Santiago González are also set to be part of the decade-long celebration. They will play doubles together via wild cards, while 21-year-old Pacheco also received an invitation to the singles main draw, alongside 17-year-old French prospect Moise Kouame, who had a surprising run to the third round at Roland Garros.
The Mifel Tennis Open by Telcel Oppo has grown from 12,300 attendees and 38 accredited media outlets to more than 35,000 and 67 media outlets in 10 years. To celebrate this growth and this special edition, various surprises have been prepared for everyone involved in the tournament, which takes place from July 25 to August 1.
“Fuera de Set” is the calendar of events that encompasses all the activities taking place in the renovated commercial area, which is expanding its culinary offerings. As part of its opening in Los Cabos, the “Criollo” concept, led by renowned Mexican chef Enrique Olvera, will delight attendees with its culinary creations.
The activities kick off with Kids Nite on the first day of qualifying, the debut of Wellness Day, and special music shows such as Rosalia de Cuba, 80s & 90s Night, and Karaoke Night. Of course, the official parties are a must, including the traditional “white party” before the tournament begins at Toro Latin Kitchen. Meanwhile, Soho House and Bar Marte are joining the tournament’s closing festivities by opening new locations in Los Cabos.
Mextenis Talks! is once again part of the schedule, as exclusive talks with top guests—including the stars of the hit podcast “Nothing Major”—will continue over three days. From Thursday through Saturday, John Isner and Sam Querrey—both champions in Los Cabos (doubles in 2021 and singles in 2017)—along with fellow American Steve Johnson, will join us for the celebration.
The countdown begins with the first-ever unveiling of an official poster that captures the essence of what it means for tennis to come to a venue like Los Cabos.
Featuring the colors of the ATP 250 and inspired by the unique geography of Baja California Sur, the poster evokes the meeting of the desert and the sea through geometric shapes that depict a landscape marked by its walls of compacted earth and iconic elements of the region, such as the Arco, native vegetation, and the whales that visit the Sea of Cortez every year.
Mexican artists Euri and Arantxa, from Fervor—a studio focused on aesthetic sensibility—drew inspiration for the poster’s composition from the artistic language of Guatemalan painter and sculptor Carlos Mérida (1891–1985).
Rather than simply depicting a tennis match, the work seeks to convey the spirit of Los Cabos as a place where sports, nature, art, and architecture coexist in harmony, beneath a sky that can also be interpreted as a tennis ball.
“I envisioned it as a collector’s item and a visual tribute to one of the most unique venues in international tennis,” said Euri Lorenzo.
In addition, the Cabo Sports Complex (CSC) is expanding from five to six courts with the debut of a new court that will become Court 1, featuring stands for 250 fans—a facility requested by the ATP and the players. It’s worth noting that the qualifying tournament is offering free admission for all families on Saturday, July 25, and Sunday, July 26—the days on which Kids Nite and Family Day will be held, respectively.
Mextenis thanks its new sponsors for their trust throughout these first 10 years of its history. Joining the lineup this year are Disney Cruise Line, the dietary supplement Microbiot Fit, and Stanley, the most prestigious brand of thermoses.
Single-day tickets are now available for purchase.
