Mexico City, June 30, 2025.- “There is nothing more important than tennis… so when I go out on the court and things don’t go the way I want, I feel like I’m dying. You try to do whatever it takes to save your life.”
So blunt are the words of the current No. 14 in the PIF ATP Rankings in the trailer for his new ATP documentary ‘Breaking Back with Andrey Rublev’.
At 27 years old and with an undeniable talent that led him to conquer two Masters 1000 (Monte Carlo 2023 and Madrid 2024), in addition to reaching the quarterfinals in all four Grand Slams, the Russian player has also attracted attention for his dynamic personality and transparency in his mental struggle.
With intimate scenes of his training sessions and conversations with his work team, in the documentary we can see that tennis as a professional has led Rublev to certain internal battles and reflections on how to maintain a balance in the world of elite sport. Of solitary temperament, but great passion on the court, finally through this work we can get to know the introverted Rublev more in depth and how he has dealt with his temperament in recent years.
