A Mexican in the quarterfinals in doubles
Los Cabos, August 3, 2022. Mexico’s Santiago Gonzalez and Argentina’s Andres Molteni, top seeds in the doubles tournament of the Mifel Tennis Open, qualified to the round of the best eight pairs.
The pair of Gonzalez and Molteni defeated 6-3, 6-4 the duo formed by Colombian Nicolas Barrientos and Mexican Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela (MEX).
This way, Mexico has a representative in the doubles quarterfinals in Los Cabos, a tournament in which Mexican players have stood out in all editions.
During the day, second-seeded Australians Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell defeated Mexican Hans Hach Verdugo and American Hunter Reese 6-3, 6-4.
The pair of South Africa’s Raven Klaasen and Brazil’s Marcelo Melo and the duo of Sweden’s Andre Goransson and Japan’s Ben McLachlan also advanced.
