Medvedev in love with México
Los Cabos August 6, 2022.- After claiming his first title of this year and his first as World No. 1, Daniil Medvedev is confident and motivated heading into the rest of the hard court season.
“You come here and the jet lag is a bit complicated the first few days, it’s not easy to adapt and the heat but now I’m happy about the great tennis displayed all week and the tough matches won. I’m happy. My goal still remains, I played good tennis that’s the reason nobody beat me, or course they were difficult rivals” he stated during the press conference at the end of the game. He also assured that at time what generates more pressure are the social networks, not necessarily tennis itself.
“Tennis is not an easy sport because even if you win and lose the following week, you tend to forget a little bit. But the good thing is that the next week you can change your season around and your life too. Like Cameron did in Indian Wells. I had lost four finals in a row and I needed to be better and you never know when it’s going to happen,” he added.
To the question that the world No. 1 has been asked all week about whether he´s in love with Mexico, he said that now he absolutely is “This year has given me more experience and when I look back everything has been positive because you can always be better. My job is to play tennis and that’s what matters to me the most”
