Gonzalez and Krajicek in doubles semis
- The Mexican and American duo advanced after eliminating the Olympic champions.
Los Cabos, July 17, 2025.- Mexican Santiago Gonzalez and American Austin Krajicek came from a set down to advance to the semifinals of the doubles tournament at the Mifel Tennis Open by Telcel Oppo.
Gonzalez and Krajicek defeated Australians John Peers and Matthew Ebden by 2-6, 6-3, 10-7.
“In the first set they were far superior to us. They were playing very well. The second set we just had to fight, to keep our serve and we knew that if we kept it, maybe at some point they were going to go down. It was an important victory, very complicated opponents and well, now we have to rest and think about the semifinals tomorrow”, said Gonzalez after the match.
Meanwhile, Anirudh Chandrasekar, from India, and Reese Stalder, from the United States, beat Mexican Manuel Sanchez and Australian Bernard Tomic by 7-5, 6-1.
Earlier, Robert Cash and J.J. Tracy, of the United States, defeated the second seeded pair, Christian Harrison and Rajeev Ram, of the United States, 4-6, 6-4, 10-6.
En el último partido, los australianos James Duckworth y Adam Walton, que se habían enfrentado previamente en singles con triunfo para Walton, se retiraron y sus compatriotas Blake Bayldon y Tristan Schoolkate avanzaron.
In the semifinals Bayldon and Schoolkate will face Chandrasekar and Stalder, and in the other semifinal Gonzalez and Krajicek will play against the Americans Cash and Tracy.
