The Abierto de Los Cabos is included in the exclusive group of tournaments of the ATP Tour that has hotel headquarters and the sport complex in the same place just like Acapulco, Stockholm, Umag, and Dubai, which makes it very special.
Jose Antonio Fernandez emphasized the numbers obtained in 2019 during the tournament that was won by the argentinean Diego Schwartzman.
He assured that last year there was 22,751 people, a growth of 6% compared to 2018, this almost doubled the first year. The tournament almost had 50 hours of broadcast by ESPN, on a 10-year contract. The international coverage was broadcasted in all continents with 600 hours of transmission, with a 23% growth.
Grupo Pegaso and Grupo Olarena share the investment of the new complex, under a 10-year contract, with the desire of becoming the best tournament 250 of the circuit to then become a ATP 500. “The table is set with these facilities, now it is up to us as an organization to have everything ready and treat the players as we do in Acapulco, just like we have characterized ourselves in Mextenis”, said the general manager of the tournament.
